The Rahman Limaj Scholarship Program is a 501(c)(3) public charity that provides high school education for some of the most disadvantaged young girls in the former Yugoslavia.
Initially targeting the small village of Morani, Macedonia, the RLSP works on a small scale to promote appreciation for girls’ potential, and village-wide willingness to invest in daughters.
The Importance of Girls' Education
Female high school education is the single strongest indicator of economic growth in developing communities, according to the World Bank. National and multi-national programs designed to promote girls' education typically fail in the areas that need it most, however, due to local corruption, inefficiency of scale and lack of effective mechanisms to help girls adjust to their new environment. The RLSP is designed to succeed in these communities, thanks to its unique program design. Contact us to learn how you can support our work, or build a similar program for your own home village.
